Les P’tits Bateaux sail on the L’Ille canal from a new nautical base to the Saint-Martin park, a real green lung in the town centre of Rennes. In this verdant oasis numerous family activities can be enjoyed: games for children, discovering animals, barbecues, bowling, gazebos, a bowling pitch and from now on Les P’tits Bateaux and its Harbour Office.

The P’tits Bateaux electric boats make it possible to explore the town and its surroundings aboard a silent and safe vessel. No need of licences; it is you who decide where to adventure in boats which respect the environment, and are locally manufactured in Vigneux de Bretagne.

Trips are from 10 am-21 pm every weekday until November 2023 with different itineraries for the 1, 2 and 3-hour trips. Reservations can also be made at the Harbour Office.
Meeting point at the nautical base at 48 Canal Saint-Martin
The point of departure and return of the boats is made just at the South entrance of Prairies Saint-Martin. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure with an ID card and a deposit (cautionary cheque or CB)
The closest parking lot is at the entrance of the canal Saint Martin, in front of the lock.
Free Parking is not allowed in Canal Saint Martin street.
An alternative parking lot is quai Armand Rebillon. You would cross the canal by the pedestrian wooden bridge close to the naval base.
After a safety briefing, board your 5 or 7 passenger electric P’tit Bateau: from now on you are the sole master of the boat and can run at 8 kmh discovering the navigable waterways of Rennes. You have the choice of visiting the town, going for a country sail on the river or canal, fishing or just enjoying yourself on the water. Relaxation is guaranteed on board the P’tit Bateaux with safety equipment and awnings for sun or rain.
1-hour trip.
In one hour, you can make a very pleasant little country trip on the canal towards North Saint-Martin
2-hour trip
For the 2-hour trip you can leave towards the North as far as the gates of Saint-Grégoire and explore part of the town centre to the end of the Saint-Cast quay.
3-hour trip
With the 3-hour formula, crossing 2 locks, you can navigate to the North towards the Charbonnière lock or visit the town centre towards the Dupont des Loges area, and take the direction to the Rhoazon Park.
Count 15 minutes for each lock. A one-hour trip therefore excludes locks.
For the 2 and 3-hour trips, we ask the lock keepers regarding their availability and the feasibility for the passage of boats.
Passage of boats through the locks will be confirmed before departure. Direction to another itinerary without locks is not excluded, according to the navigating regulations of the day.
No passage of boats through locks will be possible for the 2-hour boat trips starting at 6PM since the lock keepers’ shifts ends at 7PM.

The Harbour Office, a gathering place, welcomes you to the comfort of a beautiful terrace where you can sample refreshing delicacies or take them on board. All our products are carefully made locally. Our team is also available for planning entertainments for young and old or privatising our boats for business seminars…birthdays etc. Tailor made offers on the water with Les P’tits Bateaux or on the waterside at the Harbour Office.

The Team of Les P’tits Bateaux
No permit is needed for Les P’tits Bateaux. You will be provided with an inflatable life jacket and rapidly trained to river navigation and to piloting our boats.
The following documents are required:
In the case of booking: your ticket with the QR code
A valid ID card (returned at the end of the trip)
A 500 Euro cautionary cheque, made out to SARL LPBR (returned at the end of the trip)
Only over the age of 18 can you rent a boat alone.
Yes, we provide a life jacket adapted to pregnant women.
We welcome children over the age of 2 aboard and provide them with a life jacket to fit them. WEARING A LIFE JACKET IS COMPULSORY
A life jacket is supplied to the entire crew before boarding. All life jackets are suitable for adults and children over the age of 2 years. A LIFE JACKET IS COMPULSORY

The rate indicated is for the renting of the boat, the duration of the trip and whatever is the number of people in the crew.
Yes, dogs are welcome on board. Take care to leave the boat as you found it, in consideration of the next client. Dogs are not provided with life jackets.
Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before your booked trip. There may be delays related to the previous trip. We shall do everything possible to ensure your departure on time and we count on you to return on time in consideration for the next client.
The boats are prepared every morning before the first trip whatever the weather. All boats are equipped with awnings for sun or rain. In the case of extremely unfavourable weather forecasts or dangerous sailing conditions, we will inform you the nautical base will be closed. Only in this particular case will a postponement be possible.
We advise a reservation in order to plan your trip in advance. A boat can be rented at the location, but there is the risk of none being available.
We allow a delay of 5 minutes, but out of respect for the following client, we ask you to keep to the length of time reserved when booking your trip. In the case of a longer delay we will apply a surcharge to the established tariff.
You can pay to the naval base by credit card or by change.
To make a reservation online, you will need your credit card or your Paypal account.
We welcome the disabled. Our team assures their transport into the boats. The wheelchairs are kept in safe custody.
